Trust me when I say this session, Build Your Brand Authority Using Video, by Amy Schmittauer had the maximum number of anticipatory tweets by far for any INBOUND16 event, excluding keynotes and spotlights.

Amy Schmittauer started the presentation on “Building Your Brand Authority Using Video” just like she starts her video, by directly coming to the point and explaining why videos are going to improve your ROI. Videos induce a personal touch while delivering the content.
Video has an emotional impact on an audience far greater than we may give it credit for. @Schmittastic #INBOUND16

Amy shared the 3 most important ingredients of her recipe for a successful video:
- Your brand
- Your mission
- Your medium

To retain your audience and generate ideas for great content, you have to dig deeper into their psyche. You need to ask questions like:
- What are their pain points?
- What keeps them awake at night?
- What are the problems they face?
Once you know their challenges, you can come up with a solution and they would automatically make your video trend.
"What keeps them up at night? Problems? Pain points? Your job is to come back w/ solutions, answers, remedies." – @Schmittastic #INBOUND16

Amy also emphasised that if you don’t perform this simple exercise, then you would rather not create any video at all.
Putting up videos on YouTube can be a cumbersome and tiring process, and not something you would want to frequent spend time on. So to make sure you have a flawless video, Amy recommended TubeBuddy video extension of Google chrome.

Moving on to performance, don’t get disheartened if your first video doesn’t do well. Or even if you can’t bear to watch it yourself, let alone others. Amy stresses that practice is the key, and you can’t expect to master something overnight.

Up next Amy shared her “Amy’s Authority Video Formula”
Secret to social: "Would I share this?" –@Schmittastic #INBOUND16 #tips #socialmedia pic.twitter.com/4lqZsfmsmf

The major highlight of this formula remains the information which I shared with you at the start, that is, get to the point as soon as possible. There is a lot of content out there and unless you convince them of your worth in the first 8 seconds of the video, you’ve lost them.
Various media channels like Snapchat, Instagram, Vine etc. are YouTube “Jump Cats”.
Creating curiosity that makes people land up on your YouTube channel.
